WAMIT pioneered the direct-drive pump era for water jet cutting in China. In 2014, the first generation of WAMIT servo direct-drive pump was introduced, significantly reducing the operating costs of water jet cutting. This first-generation pump uses a 15 kW servo motor for direct drive, which saves up to 60% of electricity per hour compared to the traditional 37 kW asynchronous motor. Additionally, the direct-drive mechanism eliminates the need for hydraulic and cooling systems. This not only reduces the initial equipment investment costs but also solves issues related to hydraulic system leakage and maintenance.
In 2024, WAMIT launched the second-generation direct-drive pump, which represents a comprehensive upgrade from the original technology. The number of components has doubled, and the processing efficiency has increased by 80%. The pump is equipped with an intelligent control system that allows users to monitor the equipment's operation in real time via a mobile app. It also enables precise calculation of operating costs and remote assistance, allowing us to identify and resolve issues for customers promptly.
Waterjets can cut a wide range of materials, including metal, stone, glass, ceramics, composites, rubber, foam, plastics, and more.
A waterjet cutting machine is a tool that uses a high-pressure stream of water, often mixed with abrasive particles, to cut a wide variety of materials. It is known for its precision and ability to cut without generating heat, making it ideal for metals, stone, glass, and composites.
Direct-drive pumps feature a simpler and more compact structure, lower energy consumption, faster start-up and shutdown times, eliminate the need for hydraulic oil, require easier maintenance, and offer lower overall operating costs.
