Cutting head

WAMIT waterjet cutting heads include four main types: three-axis, AV five-axis, AC five-axis, and pure water cutting heads.

The three-axis head cuts along X, Y, and Z axes but does not rotate.

The AV five-axis head cuts in X, Y, Z directions and bevels up to ±10°, with 360° rotation—ideal for tiles, granite, and marble.

The AC five-axis head has all AV functions plus beveling up to ±60°, suitable for sintered stone and metal plates.

The pure water head is for low-density materials like EVA, vegetables, and meat.

FAQ

What is the primary function of a waterjet cutting head?

It serves as the core operational component of waterjet equipment, responsible for focusing high-pressure water into an extremely fine jet and mixing it with abrasives (if required) to achieve precise cutting of materials.

Does the cutting head require daily maintenance?

No, daily maintenance is not required, but it is recommended to perform a simple cleaning after each use and periodically inspect wear and tear on consumable parts such as the nozzle.

What should be noted when operating the cutting head?

Mainly ensure the cutting height is appropriate—neither too far nor too close to the material—to guarantee optimal cutting results and extend nozzle lifespan.

What’s the difference between 3-axis and 5-axis waterjet cutting?

3-axis machines cut in straight lines and are ideal for flat cuts. 5-axis machines can cut bevels, tapers, and complex angles—commonly used in the stone, aerospace, and metal fabrication industries.

How long does the machine last?

With proper maintenance, the machine can last over 10 years. Key parts like the pump seals and cutting heads have replaceable components for long-term durability.

Do you offer installation and training?

Yes, we provide on-site or remote installation guidance and operator training. Detailed user manuals and tutorial videos are also included.
